Gomez started her acting career in 2002 with the television show for children Barney & Friends. As a teenager she made her name known by playing Alex Russo on the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-2012). Gomez has also been featured in a variety of films such as Another Cinderella Story (2008) and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2010). She also starred in Ramona and Beezus (2010) and Spring Breakers (2012). She was also a voice actor for Mavis in Hotel Transylvania (2012-2022). Gomez is the executive producer for the Netflix television series 13 Reasons Why (2017-2020) and Living Undocumented (2019) through her production company, July Moon Productions. She also executive produces and is a star in the HBO Max cooking series Selena + Chef (2020-2022) and the Hulu mystery comedy series Only Murders in the Building (2021-present). Gomez was recognized for her work, and she received nominations for the Golden Globe Award. She also won the Primetime Emmy Award for producer. Gomez released three albums in her former band Selena Gomez & the Scene All of them made it to the top 10 of the US Billboard 200 and were certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA): Kiss & Tell (2009), A Year Without Rain (2010), and When the Sun goes down (2011). Her first solo album, Stars Dance (2013), topped the U.S. Billboard 200, while its first single, "Come & Get It" hit the top ten spot in the US Billboard Hot 100. Gomez released Revival (2015) as her second studio album. The album was released at the top of the American charts and was certified platinum. Three top-ten US entries were created from Revival: "Good for You", the "Same Old Love" single, and "Hands to Myself". Rare (2020) the album that was her third studio album, was her third consecutive number one in the US. The lead track, "Lose You To Love Me", was her first top-ten hit song across both the US and Canada. Revelacion was her Spanish-language album came out in 2021. She was nominated to the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album. She has been awarded numerous accolades like the 2017 Billboard Woman of the year award. She also broke fifteen Guinness World Records. Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people around the globe in 2020. Gomez is a social media star and is the most-followed actress and musician on Instagram.
