Harry Edward Styles - also known as Harry Styles - is a British musician and songwriter. Harry Styles has been credited as composing songs for the One Direction band. He was born in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, England on February 1 1994, and is the child of Des Styles and Anne Cox. Harry Styles studied at the Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School which is where he formed his own band, composed of 3 classmates. The band was named White Eskimo. They were the winners of the Battle of Bands in 2009, thanks to their outstanding results. In spite of always having an interest in music the man also had a dream of becoming a lawyer or an physiotherapist. He was employed in an area bakery on a part-time basis to help his family financially. Harry Styles performed Is not She Lovely (Stevie Wonder) at the 2010 auditions in The X Factor. The group had to separate. Nicole Scherzinger told Harry Styles, Liam Payne Zayn Milik Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson that they'd be forming an ensemble called One Direction after the X Test audition. Simon Cowell sponsored five teenagers to create the group in 2010. They sang the Kelly Clarkson song My Life Would Be Sucky Without You as well as Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart at the time of the contest. This made them one of the top contenders for winning the competition. The group was however placed third behind Rebecca Ferguson, and the winner Matt Cardle. Harry Styles did not receive any cash prize. However, Cowell offered a 2-million-pound deal with One Direction in order for the group to join Syco Records.
