Lee Roy Selmon blends the merits of football scholarship in his home with the benefits of community service. His first family is that his father was the youngest of the nine children raised within Eufala with Lucious Selmon. Two football. He was one of three brothers who were players for Oklahoma. Three brothers all made All-Americans. In 1973, Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the starters for one year. Lee Roy received the Outland & Lombardi Awards for being the best lineman of the USA. In three years, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy as the starter. Also, they won two national championships. He received a third scholarship in 1975, and was named as a National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon holds a bachelor's degree in educational studies. Lee Roy's fourth service was ten-hours per week in volunteer work during college. In Tampa, he played for the Buccaneers for nine seasons, and eventually became an all-pro. He also began his career in the field of business. By 1988, he became an Account Representative at Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also a part of the following groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It was the Junior Chamber of Commerce honored him in 1982 as being among the top 10 youngsters from the United States. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in height and weighed 256 pounds when he was a student athlete. He captained the 1975 team. He joined University of South Florida in 1993 as an Associate Director of Sports. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded their Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Jr. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor that made the award.
